your dedicated server is a PRO.
you have 1Gbps network connexion.
you have 3 chooses of bandwidth strategy:
- SLA Premium noBurtable
- SLA Premium Burstable
- SLA Business

SLA Premium noBurtable:
- the traffic between all ovh's server: 1Gbps
- the traffic Internet => your dedicated server is 1Gbps
- the traffic your dedicated server => Internet: SLA 100Mbps
no burst. SLA means "you can do XXXMbps 24 hours / day".
here "you can do 100Mbps 24 hours / day"

SLA Premium Burstable:
free option
- the traffic between all ovh's server: 1Gbps
- the traffic Internet => your dedicated server is 1Gbps
- the traffic your dedicated server => Internet: SLA 20Mbps and
you have a burst. the burst changes every hour from 0Mbps to
500Mbps. at 3am your burst is 500Mbps. at 5pm your burst is
0Mbps.

SLA Business 100 Burst
a paid option
- the traffic between all ovh's server: 1Gbps
- the traffic Internet => your dedicated server is 1Gbps
- the traffic your dedicated server => Internet: SLA 100Mbps
burst. burst is 500Mbps. but it's just the burst that you
can use for free during 5% of the month (36 hours per month).
if you don't respect it you have 2 chooses:
- SLA Business 100 noBurst
- SLA Business 200 Burst
if you don't respect it you have 2 chosses:
- SLA Business 200 noBurst
- SLA Business 300 Burst
if you don't respect it you have 2 chosses:
- SLA Business 300 noBurst
- you have to buy a new dedicated server PRO

(*) with SLA Premium you have 100Mbps / customer. If you have > 1 server
you still have 100Mbps / customer. but if you make < 20Mbps per server
you have > 100Mbps. max 1Gbps / customer.

it means:
1 server => 100Mbps / customer => 100Mbps / serveur
2 servers => 100Mbps / customer => 50Mbps / serveur
3 servers => 100Mbps / customer => 30Mbps / serveur
4 servers => 100Mbps / customer => 20Mbps / serveur
5 servers => 100Mbps / customer => 20Mbps / serveur
6 servers => 120Mbps / customer => 20Mbps / serveur
7 servers => 140Mbps / customer => 20Mbps / serveur
8 servers => 160Mbps / customer => 20Mbps / serveur
....

if you have > 1 server AND if you don't respect this, I will switch
your server from SLA Premium noBurtable to SLA Premium Burstable.

FS#2495 - Installation of SLA Standard Premium//Business
Relate to dedicated the Serveurs project

Type of task Maintenance
Category all dedicated waiters
State In progress
Percentage carried out

Details
We set up the SLA Premium and Standard on the waiters
customers with the IP 91.121.208.0 - 255.

We will refine these adjustments.

Comments (8) Comment of OVH - Saturday October 11, 2008, 11:23
We set up it on all the router rbx-60.

Comment of OVH - Saturday October 11, 2008, 11:24
We will update all more the switchs bay at Ovh (
of 1200 equipment).

In continuation, we will be able to set up the SLA Business.

Comment of OVH - Monday October 13, 2008, 12:55
We update all the switchs infrastructure.

Comment of OVH - Tuesday October 14, 2008, 16:25
You have 100Mbps/client. I.e. that the customer has 100Mbps for the whole of
waiters at Ovh. With Kimsufi, it cannot exceed 100Mbps/client. With
the PRO offers, if it uses < 20Mbps/waiter, it can exceed 100Mbps/client.
All this without anything to pay moreover. All is included/understood in the price of waiters.
To exceed > 100Mbps/client and >20Mbps/servor, it can also buy
band-width moreover.

The detail:
- Without any paying to pay in addition to price of waiters:
-------------------------------------------------------
- Kimsufi, by defect, with the “Standard SLA Burstable”: 100 Mbps guaranteed
in a nonpermanent way, alias the band-width burstable temporarily
with 100Mbps. (temporarily wants to say “less than 12 midnight”).

- if the customer uses the band-width in an intensive way and/or
permanent, it is rocked towards “SLA Standard noBurstable”: guarantee 10Mbps,
not burstable.
Note:
In a total way, one does not wish to assure more for
Kimsufi offers. That is to say the customer is a private individual and it does not have needs
of these guarantees is it is a PRO and it is necessary that it passes towards the offers
PRO which has all the guarantees necessary. One will thus keep the state of
artistic vagueness in term of band-width on Kimsufi.

- the PRO, by defect with the “SLA Premium”: the guaranteed band-width of 100Mbps,
not burstable.
- If the customer uses > 100Mbps/client AND it makes > 20Mbps/servor, the waiter
who makes > 20Mbps will pass in SLA Premium Burstable: the guaranteed band-width
from 20Mbps, burstable 500Mbps/waiter, the burst varies between 0Mbps and 500Mbps
according to the off-peak hours and full hours and varies according to
the destination.

- With the paying options that the customer can buy (only PRO):
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If the customer wishes to have > 100Mbps/client AND > 20Mbps/servor, it can
to buy option SLA Business. It can go to 1Gbps/client.

For the waiters with connection 100Mbps:
- SLA Business, guaranteed 100Mbps, burstable 500Mbps/waiter with 149E/mois

For the waiters with connection 1Gbps:
- SLA Business, guaranteed 100Mbps, burstable 500Mbps/waiter with 149E/mois
- SLA Business, guaranteed 200Mbps, burstable 500Mbps/waiter with 299E/mois
- SLA Business, guaranteed 300Mbps, burstable 500Mbps/waiter with 349E/mois

If the customer uses the burst in an intensive and/or permanent way
(temporarily wants to say “less than 36 hours”).
he is rocked towards
- SLA Business noBurstable, guaranteed 100Mbps, not burstable/waiter
- SLA Business noBurstable, guaranteed 200Mbps, not burstable/waiter
- SLA Business noBurstable, guaranteed 300Mbps, not burstable/waiter

One can summarize all this by:
- Kimsufi are adapted to the nonprofessional use
- the PRO are adapted to the professional use with the guarantees
necessary
- with SLA Business, the customer can buy the band-width for
to go to 1Gbps.

We have to apply the new rules to the new ones
routers in Roubaix 2.

Comment of OVH - Wednesday October 15, 2008, 17:44
We prepare all the routers with the setting in place of new SLA

Comment of OVH - Monday October 20, 2008, 01:26
We have just corrected the values of QoS on some switchs.

Comment of OVH - Monday October 20, 2008, 02:01
The values of QoS and the burst do not function as it is necessary
pourque the customer has the 100Mbps of band-width. Because in
function of the use of the waiter, the parameters do not give
pas le even result. We found the good parameters of
empyric manner.

I think Oles meant per thread (not you as a customer lol) so 10 users dling could get u to gbit speeds if Im guessing rightly as to what he meant
Edit: on rethink- its only gbit to internal ovh servers- rest of world its 100mbit with gbit burst I think

Incidentally oles - does this mean you will be aplying the same fix to all servers automatically , or are you only going to do ones as and when customers complain?

normal since I download 30 times in the same time right now
from your server. the goal is to check the MRTG/RRD graph
to see if you have 100Mbps ? 90Mbps or 110Mbps ? with the
currents parameters. It's strange: when you write on Cisco
"put 100Mbps for this server, it's not 100Mbps". I check
right now what have I put in the Cisco so you get 100Mbps
(as SLA Premium).
