this is the product that was also bought. which clearly shows i can get windows 2008 for testing yet in my panel and when i asked marc he stated it wasn't available for this server ...

for the technical issue with Hyper-V, as mentioned, we are not specialists in Microsoft products, so I have to redirect you to their support.

Regarding the available version of Windows: we are checking what the problem is and we'll get back to you.

update :

Marc has acknowledged this in a call stating that either the website is wrong or the portal system is wrong in not picking up the templates.
expected response time later this afternoon.... ( 6 hours time frame )

Considering to get another server and to get rid of this mess i am finding myself in. where i am working for SYS finding there problems for them when they should ideally be working for the consumer.

Looking for some help around windows 2012 standard server with the means of setting up HYPER V as an option for VMs. To note i can't choose win 2008 due to the build i chose doesn't allow that .( 3 x 120 gb SSd server ). i think this issue could be possible hardware related as well as software related.

Issues
Cant create a Vswitch when enabling hyperV as a role in windows 2012 ovh template, by following generic install process. I included ethernet NIC when installing.
When opening hyprV control panel, and clicked on Vswitch it couldn't connect to localhost.

Please help out guys.

Hi i am looking to set up hyper -V as a role on windows 2012 standard and having some small difficulty. due to what i believe maybe a network nic related issue.

Currently i have ordered three new IP’s with new mac address’s ready for applying them to VM’s under hyper V but before i am able to get to that stage of finishing the creation of a new virtual machine,

When i get to “configure network” it sates that the connection is not connected. I go to check the virtual switch manager and states that “the operation on the computer local host failed “. I am connected to the local host instance for hyper v.
i am just not understanding the actual issue of the template and as to why this isn’t working. When i installed the hyper v as a role, i chose the ethernet network connection for use as a Vswitch nic .
I have followed and done some guides as well as instillation process for videos and its not making sense as to why this isn’t working. Any help on this would be great thanks
