Maybe Tutis needs to explain why is this affecting the decision to use OVH? Copyright isn't really that bad, doesn't effect anyone, it's the scammers who get IPs blocked, etc who are worse.
OVH, as any provider, can't be in control on what customers do
They're soon on your back when they detect dodgy do'ings with your servers (if you resell).... This is ok, as long as they warn you and let you sort it out, not just block access to the servers

OVH, as any provider, can't be in control on what customers do, as it's imposible to detect copyrighted files on customers servers/vps/hosting. As others, they take actions against any copyright claim(such as DMCA takedown notices), either contacting the customer, or taking down the service if necesary. As a customer, nobody should take care about what other customers do, because as long as OVH continues to take actions on claims, OVH network or datacenters will never be compromised.

It's a bit of a stretch to consider that sort of thing "shady". It's not criminal and it doesn't harm anyone, unlike spamming, malware, botnet control, etc...
Bear in mind that OVH are the second-largest hosting provider in the world - the only companies with more servers are Microsoft and Facebook.

Yes and do you know how these tools work? They read the client and create files that are in no way owned by Blizzard. Look over (
https://github.com/memononen/recastnavigation) which is used for maps.
OVH don't allow copyrighted material on their servers, you can search other threads on here or on other web hosting forums.

France has copyright laws so don't expect them to come here and say you can.

I guess if Blizzard wanted to shut them down they would, but I read somewhere it's not actually illegal to host the server, only to connect to it. Blizzard does not own the license code which is hosted on these servers, they coded it themselves from scratch (Blizzard only has copyright over the client). Plus it's good advertisement for World Of Warcraft in my opinion.

"Extracting DBC, Maps and VMaps
1. Copy the ad.exe from contrib directory inside your mangos compile directory (on my compile example, the mangos compile directory is C:\Mangos-git) into your WoW installation directory. Then run the ad.exe and when it’s done you’ll see two new folders created named DBC and Maps"
As you can see it uses blizzards client files to work.

Hi i was looking into some websites and gameservers, is it ok to host copyrighted materials on your servers?
I found this page hosted on OVH thrue a cloudflare proxy
https://en.nostalrius.org/
Also this gameserver login.nostalrius.org 178.33.122.86, a world of warcraft privateserver.
How do OVH stand about this sort of hosting? is it ok to break copyright here and host unofficial servers of a game that Blizzard owns?
If so i would like to know if its ok or not.
