Hello,
As we announced last week, we’re currently working to offer you the latest applications available for Debian (“Wheezy” and “Jessie”).
This is also a good time for you to tell us which management interfaces or other distributions you use (or would like to use) that OVH doesn’t yet offer!
Today we added the following distribution to the list:
ownCloud 8 (based on Debian 8 "Jessie")
As usual, once you’ve installed the distribution, you will get access to the very latest version of the ownCloud web panel.
New features include:
- easy file management and “favourite” folder
- better search function in files and contacts
- the administration page is easier to navigate
- improvements to performance and interface speed
One notable difference between this version and ownCloud 7 is the additional “Apps” installation – certain elements like contacts, calendar and bookmark are no longer part of the basic installation, but must be manually installed.
For now, we’ve only installed and configured the antivirus app, but if enough of you request it, we can also do this for other basic services, like calendar and contacts.

ownCloud 8 is available for dedicated servers as a “ready-to-go” distribution. It’s currently in beta.
