Thats ok thanks for the reply. I changed my host and now everything is ok! Problems like this should not exist by the way! No time for troubleshooting for an unexplained issue like this!

Have you checked on the logs? Both your MySQL logs and your hosting logs.

You can also try running tcpdump on your VPS.

Hello, I am trying to connect to my database(using PDO) (on my OVH hosted VPS) from my website (OVH hosted too). It seems that I cannot make that happen whatever I try. However connection can be achieved from any other host. Network firewall is disabled on dedi and no iptables is running.
Sometimes however I can connect successfully for some minutes, but this is not an option!
I am using Ubuntu 14.10 as OS with OVH's kernel installed (huge mistake).
I also opened a ticket about this 6 days ago but still no answer!
I would really appreciate if someone that had the same problem spends some minutes of his time to help me!
