I have already asked OVH this question as I use the free licenses on the previous range. They told me that on the 2016 range they no longer offer any free licensing.

Yes it is 2016. They might have not updated their control panel because I am just told by the support that the licensing is not included. I am just lucky to get one for free.

Which server did you get and what license?

I can't see them giving cPanel with HOST-32L

Thanks for the info. Shame there are still no cheap high powered CPU ranges. I don't need 128GB RAM

That right, they are no longer offering free licenses. According to OVH:

In the 2014 Hosting range, we offered servers with licenses included. Such offer was not correctly understood, as more than half of our customers never requested them. So, in the 2016 Hosting ranges, we decided to offer the most polyvalent server, and, specially, at the lowest possible price. These servers are based on two new Intel CPUs: Xeon D-1520 (4c/8t) @ 2.2 GHz with 2.6 GHz turbo, and Xeon D-1540 (8c/16t) @ 2.0 GHz with 2.6 GHz turbo. We have added SOFT RAID @ 2 x 2TB and vRack with 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps.

With 32, 64, or 128 GB RAM ECC DDR4 2133 MHz, this makes a total of 6 servers. Some interesting examples:

Briefly: Most customers with 2014 Hosting servers never reuqested licenses, even when they were included in the price, so OVH decided to lower the prices for 2016 Hosting servers, as well as adding vRack instead of offering free licenses. Even when I don't use Hosting servers, that sounds good, as users can benefit vRack and a lower price instead of paying for a never used license.

No, they don't. I don't think the free licenses were very popular so they scrapped them and decreased the costs of the servers instead.
