You can use this command after logging in
Code:
sudo su - && passwd
Root access is initially disabled in /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg
However i have not changed the value here as no need for myself
you can get more specific instructions not? ???

You need to confirm with your server provider if root access is enabled. They will give instructions on how to access the server via root user.
How can I log in with root ?
A bit old thread, but: you can use a command ”sudo -s” in order to get root rights.

Hi.
Not sure if I'm missing some info/documentation here but can't find it anywhere.
I have a private server and when I deploy a new 'os' I get an email with the info in how to access everything. ON the Public cloud I only get a popup saying that I should login as admin to the ip address.
I generated my rsa key, logged in as admin and I'm in but this admin user can't do anything (can't create users, install software or anything useful. Where do I get my root password from ?
Thanks
