No, as stated the control panel installation system is intended for you to complete clean installations, it is NOT intended for you to upgrade your server. You need to complete that manually yourself.

Does anyone has experience with installing Xen over itself as a method of upgrading? Obviously I will backup the VMs before I try it.
I don't use this OS so can't really help specifically, however the Control Panel OVH provides is NOT for upgrading, it's for installing. If you install through the control panel it will be a clean install, and all old data will be lost permanently.

Thanks for your reply.

I've already looked through that post and it doesn't seem to apply as the first action in the upgrade process is insert the CD to the drive which is obviously not an option on SYS.

There must be a way to upgrade to Debian Jessie on SYS? Is it possible to upgrade from the xe CLI?

Isn't something that you can do via OVH control panel. I found this with a quick google search which might be of some use: https://xen-orchestra.com/blog/migra...er-6-2-to-6-5/

Hi,

Is there any information available on how to upgrade a XenServer 6.2 installation to XenServer 6.5 to allow Debian Jessie to boot?

My impression is that I must use the "Reinstall" Control Panel option and select "Upgrade" at some point during the installation. However, I am not sure if that option is available via the Control Panel and I cannot afford to format the server's HDDs in case of an error.

Many thanks,
Jon
