Unless you have hardware raid on the box, you will eventually be burned as without hardware raid, the esxi is only installed on the first disk which is going to eventually fail anyway. Just be careful with esxi on these newer sys boxes.
yes, I don't see why not. and you can see a similar setup quite often in customers.

But if you want Linux on the VPS then better you use LXC so you can make it on a CT rather than VM.
I you want to handle Windows also, you can make your DS to handle both, using Proxmox is the solution (because ESXi can create VM only).

SYSers, wanted to do some virtulaisation within the ESXi 5.5 I have on my SYS dedi box. Is this at all possible or advised? i.e. create a CentOS 6 or 7 VM and then put KVM on the VM.
