Simply format the USD drive and run lsblk command to detect the USB drive.

500GB? I only see option for up to 256 GB USB stick.
According to their website, your server will be rebooted in order to enable USB ports. So you should look at your uptime (Run "uptime") to see when it was rebooted. The new media may not automatically mount if it is not properly formatted, so it's better to look on /dev to see if there's anything new there(Run "ls /dev"). Usuarlly, you should get ona "sdX" for each hard drive installed on your server(not counting the sdXY for each partition), so, if your server has two HDDs(sda & sdb), your USB stick would be "sdc".

I've ordered a USB Hard Drive 500GB which i want to use as a storage device....now in order to use it do i need to to do something or will it show up automatically???
I'm using Ubuntu server.... with the df -h command it's not showing up, do i need to wait or do summet i order to show up???
