Masking the nameservers for my dedicated servers

For myxcp.net I use the ns of ns1.myxcp.net and ns2.myxcp.net

Each one points to a different IP but both to the same physical server.

The server is setup using djbdns (you could use bind9 or something else on windows os) and contains all the dns records.

If you want to use OVH as backup dns then simply add a copy of the records in there. You should keep the records using the ovh hostnames for compatability anyway. If you tried to change this it wouldnt be 'proper' even if it worked.

Hi guys,
I've tried the OVH support and I didn't get the answer I needed.

I'd like to mask my OVH supplied nameservers so my clients won't know who I'm using (and also to keep it simple to manage in the future).

I can create host/glue records via my other domain management system.
I've created ns4.mydomain.com and ns5.mydomain.com, however when I point them towards the IP addresses for my server and the failover DNS at OVH, they don't work.

May be I'm not explaining it right but for previous hosts, as long as I pointed my ns*.mydomain.com records to their nameserver IPs everything worked hunkydory!

Forgive if I'm not putting it in the right terms, if might be confusing people!

Yours,
Chris
