Redirect DNS to a IP not working

I have been trying to set my current domainname on OVH to redirect to a IP(webpage) that belongs to a VPS that is managed by OVH but it doesn't seem to work.
What I did was that I went to the tab with the label "Redirection" and edited changed my domain it to redirect to my new IP and then I waited for a few days and it is still not showing the new webpage.
The VPS is a linuxserver with apache, mysql and php installed on it.
What am I doing wrong?
