That's true; hadn't seen that. Then you can register it normally. Just remember that you won't be shown as administrative contact for the domain.

I'm not sure.
It says on this page https://www.ovh.co.uk/domains/dotde.xml

"The owner or domain name administrator must have an address in Germany. If you do not meet this critera, OVH will be automatically marked as the local contact."

This sounds like ovh would be listed as the Administrative contact for the .DE domain.

If this is the case then this site would be perfect for my needs.

It's a DENIC requirement, so, even if you could theoricaly get around it, you would be exposed to domain cancellation at any time due to TOS violation.

The easiest way can be to get a friend of you who lives in germany to let you use his/her address; you may need a public services bill in such case.

I am considering using ovh personal web to host a .de website. However I do not have a german address and this is required when purchasing a .de domain.

How do I get round this.
