"> Engels omdraaien Vertaal" - Do you speak Dutch as well, Andy?

Anyway, great stuff! I wish that *I* had an Internet pipe like that - I'm getting really annoyed by my current connection...

And to think I am responsible for less than 1mbps of that on average

Europe first then THE WORLD!!

Hello,
The use of the network of your hosting regional exceeded 172Gbps today
bandwidth to the Internet. It's fun. Our forecasts of the end of 2007 have
been more or less correct because in 2008 our network has doubled in size.
Yet when announced late in 2007 that exceed 150Gbps end of 2008,
you said "But what are we saying? Never will be as successful
traffic "... And yet it goes quickly. So in 2008, we continued our
heavy investment program in the network as a provider without a network
it's like a Polish supermarket during a state of civil war in 1980: it was
tail in the hope that one day there would be something that despite the assumption of
base remains unchanged "there is nothing and there will be nothing." In short, what is the value
Ovh added to our competitors? It is our network.

Indeed, we think that much of our success lies in the quality
network. Today we have over 420Gbps of interconnection capacity between
Ovh and Internet, the network goes from Madrid to Warsaw and London to Vienna,
all this in order to carry its own traffic between our datacentres
(Paris Roubaix) and visitors across Europe. Say it like it's beautiful, huh?
I continue. This is the only way we know the distance that the IP packet
travel is as short as possible so the faster and we know that there is
no congestion on the network somewhere. Trust.

According to our consumption of bandwidth in 10 years and your commands months
January 2009, it is estimated that our network is expected to double in size in 2009.
Here it does more laughs (because before that laughing?). It provides 300Gbps between and
350Gbps bandwidth consumed late 2009 (but of course, the groundhog ...).
It is therefore with these figures is to build the network Ovh 2009. And thus
sell this traffic in excellent conditions, we must have approximately 800Gbps
to 850Gbps of network capacity (almost 1Tbps!) throughout Europe and in
secure.

We spent the month of December and January to reflect (t) how to
up such a network, quality and cheap in a few weeks. So.
The heavy investment in network continue in 2009. In 3-5 weeks
we 100Gbps between Roubaix and Frankfurt (10x10Gbps). We decided
accelerate the establishment of network 100Gbps between Roubaix and London-City
(that is on my desk, rather than sign). We study the replacement of one of
DWDM network equipment between Paris and Roubaix (Huawei) by infinity then
the upgrade of 2 links Infine Roubaix / Paris 2x100Gbps to 2x200Gbps (the decision
should arrive during the week). Finally, there remains the question of the establishment
Link 100Gbps London / Amsterdam with a very technically complex
since there are over 220km of fiber optic lighting without signal regeneration
optics. Here the goal is to make a loop Roubaix / London / Amsterdam / Roubaix to
100Gbps. Why all this work? This will allow us to interconnect 2 new
Cisco routers VSS directly peering points and providers
transit through the backbone routers. Live. Let's talk about transit.

This week, we will choose transit providers for their purchase
15x10Gbps links to London and Amsterdam (which we will carry on our
network until datacentre Roubaix-City). Consulted on Teleglobe, Global Crossing,
Level3 and Telia. It is expected the proposals. Also, we will interconnect
on new peering points in the Nordic countries (DK, SE, NO), strengthening
link Amsterdam / Warsaw 2x10Gbps through and secure the 3 points of peering
Important (Decix, AMSIX, Linx) with new routers and new 10G
interconnection, while seeking the PNI with some operators who
exchanged a lot of traffic. Why are we not talking about the network in Europe
South? Because oddly operators South have low capacity
national network and high capacity when speaking of Paris, Frankfurt or
even Amsterdam and London. This is surprising, but it is simpler to peer
with an operator via IT 10G AMSIX (Amsterdam) via MIX (Milano). Of
Furthermore, our customers and IT ES consume very little bandwidth, despite
calls for "order" that we have sent Mr ES score, you Could
consume more bandwidth? Thank you in advance. "No answer. In short, we
put the packet on the Nordic countries like NL, DK, SE and NO to prepare the
start-up subsidiaries in the corner there and you look at the evolution of the bandwidth
in the South.

While this network is available at cost via ChtIX.eu. The mouth to the ear
begins to take. It is interesting to work together with customers
IT, BE, CH, ES or PL to provide quality services and cheap.

Normally everything should be fine. Your orders of servers are very
supported since the beginning of 2009 allowing us to invest in the network
fast. We have more and more customers taking SLA Business
1Gbps and ... it is also fast. It includes the hosting of major projects
which were provided by some of our European competitors. And slowly
it is our hole in each new country where the subsidiary is started. We start
PT now and we'll start NL one week to another ...
