Can I remove remote desktop?
lol i removed it but it was a bit of a bad idea :/ how do i reinstall?
I tried sudo apt-get install gnome
but it says
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies.
gnome: Depends: gnome-desktop-environment (= 1:2.20.2.2) but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages
Edit: nvm i think ive sorted it
I've got to install some other scripts which require restarts so once I get round to it I will restart it. If it doesn't work post here again, thanks for your help

Warning: Use at your own risk!
Remove Desktop:
Code:
apt-get remove gnome*
Code:
apt-get remove xserver*
I don't know the exact details to disable it when using NX client. That bit is up to you should you choose to disable rather than remove.
Edit: sorry couldnt see an edit button because I wasnt logged in :/ you can delete this post
Also I ordered the other server @ 1am on the 28th, it says in my invoice the server has been located just needs an OS install and connection or something.
Can I expect this on Sunday or will I have to wait until monday?

Anyway I saw on another forum saturday was counted for the 72 hour wait, So shouldn't I have got mine today?
Hey neil, well maybe not remove it, just disable the desktop part of it. And yea I have ordered a new server which I will have the normal ubuntu server on, it's basically because I was new to linux and wanted the desktop but now that I am more aware of how things work and already have everything installed I wont need the desktop, therefore would rather disable it if possible as I immagine it using a little bit of ram
Hi
If you want to remove the whole of remote desktop then I would recommend not to, have you considered Ubuntu Server which is what I think what you really want.
I have a package with ubuntu desktop, and I was wondering can I remove the desktop to free up some ram, or can I just disable it?
