You could do it now, disable 'Monitoring' under 'Server State', you could then shutdown the server and we would not ping it to know that it is down.
We would advise against this though because if the server got a hardware failure or any kind of issue, we would not know unless you opened a ticket.

Btw - I get an email about the server being down and an intervention being planned every time I do an OS reinstall (the moment it stops responding to pings, y'know). I figured tech's would just ignore intervention things if the server was in OS reinstall state..?
We never ignore interventions, if the server fails to respond a ping it is automatically added to the list, if the server responds to a ping before the tech sees it then the intervention is cancelled.

There is an intervention on the server right now, the installation might have to be relaunched.
What distro you trying to install?
