SecondaryDNS

At OVH:

  • Login to the OVH Manager and select your dedicated server.
  • Under Services, select Secondary DNS.
  • Click New Domain and add the domain you have registered with UK2.Net, without the "www." part or similar (ie., "example.co.uk")

At UK2.Net:

Add sdns1.ovh.net as the secondary DNS server.

I do believe that the primary DNS server (your dedicated server? -- you didn't mention) will need to permit slave zone transers to sdns1.ovh.net.

Also OVH's DNS server doesn't like DJBDNS for some reason

The easiest thing to do is to transfer the domain to OVH then just use the ovh nameservers

hi

the instructions over at http://help.ovh.co.uk/InstallSecondaryDNS arent exactly the clearest, to me at least.

i currently have a domain with uk2.net and all they allow you to change on your domains with them are the nameservers. (you can pay for a service to do it with them)

what i want to know is, can i make use of this SecondaryDNS thing to have OVH host the dns records for the domain, end result is that the domain in question points to my dedicateds IP

thanks in advance
