Thanks fozle. Very strange. I've been connected more or less continuously for six months and all of a sudden (just before 9AM UK time today) it's dead, like someone dropped the route.

Are you able to telnet to - say - helsinki.fi.eu.undernet.org:6666 ?

Works fine outside of OVH.

Don't think we're blocking it, I can reach the site from within ovh but like you can't ping or traceroute. If we meant to block this domain we'd do it properly, but blocking domains like that doesn't sound like us. Perhaps the domain is somehow blocked on certain ports but to my knowledge we are not blocking it.

Only it's not one site, it's about 20 spread all over Europe and North America.
I'll raise a ticket as this is very inconvenient for me.

I doubt OVH has done anything, its likely a routing issue thats occurred on its own and needs repairing. OVH have no reason to block the route to a certain site just because they feel like it.

OK the problem is unrelated to that filter then. I've entered the IP addresses, but that's only for port 6667. Most of the servers accept connections on a dozen different ports - none of which are reachable since 8-9AM this morning.

As far as I can see, OVH has killed the route to all the public undernet hosts. If someone could explain why or how long it's going to last that'd be great. It's quite a hassle for me.

Thanks, but ping is probably filtered out so isn't a reliable indicator here..
www.undernet.org is still working, it's the IRC servers that are unreachable.

Servers: http://www.undernet.org/servers.php

Try a connection to any of those hosts on port 6667.
traceroute dies at ovh.

Code:
$ host diemen.nl.eu.undernet.org
diemen.nl.eu.undernet.org has address 194.109.20.90
$ nc -v -w 10 194.109.20.90 6667
undernet.xs4all.nl [194.109.20.90] 6667 (ircd) : Connection timed out
$ traceroute -m 6 194.109.20.90
traceroute to 194.109.20.90 (194.109.20.90), 6 hops max, 40 byte packets
 1  rbx-28-m1.routers.ovh.net (91.121.94.253)  0.521 ms  0.799 ms  0.928 ms

Noticed this morning that all of the Undernet IRC servers are now inaccessible from OVH. Is this a temporary measure?

Edit: details:

Code:
$ wget -qO- http://www.undernet.org/servers.php | sed 's/.*>\([a-z][a-z0-9\.]*\)<.*/\1/i' | grep -i '\.undernet\.org$' | while read i; do traceroute -m 6 $i; done
...
traceroute to Diemen.NL.EU.Undernet.Org (194.109.20.90), 6 hops max, 40 byte packets
 1  rbx-28-m1.routers.ovh.net (91.121.94.253)  2.575 ms  2.620 ms  2.727 ms
 2  rbx-2-6k.routers.ovh.net (213.251.191.130)  0.785 ms * *
 3  40g.vss-1-6k.routers.ovh.net (213.251.128.30)  0.851 ms * *
 4  20g.fra-1-6k.routers.ovh.net (91.121.131.85)  46.274 ms * *

http to www.undernet.org still works but the actual servers are no longer accessible.
