Since there has still been no official translation i'll prove this awful computer generated one. You'll get the jist.

April 20, 2008, 00h01, we can make the advertisement!

Good evening,
Today, it is the official date of launching of a news
generation of the processors known until there under the name of code

Penryn

It is the beginning of ecological truths processors. Finally!

Why this processor is the ecological one?

- First of all, it is engraved in 45nm instead of 65nm. Consequence?
One needs less energy to make function this processor
that the same version in 65nm. Thus energy saving and
thus a step moreover for ecology.

- It is the 1st processor which does not require lead for its
production. A step yet for ecology.

- The processor does not use any more dioxide of silicon like
insulator but hafnium. Consequence: the processor consumes
much less energy when the applications does not require
no computing power. Indeed, the processor passes in
a major waking state: the memory hiding place level 1 and 2
is decontaminated and the tension of the processor is lowered. Still
a step for ecology.

We are extrement happy to see this kind of processor finally
on the market. It is indeed insane to see that the consumption of one
processor 65nm (and old generations) does not vary according to
the reality use of computing power! The processor consumes
always as much of Watt during the day and the night. What a waste!
With 45nm, it is finished. When you use the processor, it
waiter consumes energy (it is normal) but as soon as there is no more
nothing to calculate, the waiter strongly decreases its consumption
electric. One estimates that during approximately 40% of time (almost all
the night), the processor will function in mode of day before.

We began the tests of this processor approximately 2 months ago.
We validated the punt forms there is approximately 1 month and since us
let us be ready. It was just necessary to await the date of exit of Penryn…
it is today at midnight And we are there for you to propose it.

Ovh is happy to propose this new processor in the new one to you
waiter Kimsufi XXL. We retained functioning the E7200 processor
with 2x2,53GHz with 3Mo of L2 mask and FSB of 1066MHz. It is a processor
manufactured in 45nm without leads and allowing strong electricity economies
and thus very ecological.

We thank Intel for having retained this new processor to us for
world exit of Penryn. We indeed received by express train this morning
even Saturday 25 processors and a few hours later 25 waiters
dedicated with Penryn are in bays and ready to be delivered. We go
to be able to deliver the 11 customers who ordered Kimsufi XXL without any
information of our share!! These faithful customers, we will thank
their to offer 1an lodging in Kimsufi XXL! It is nevertheless the least
things! Running the week, we will receive the quantities
necessary of this processor to ensure the deliveries in 1h.

Here, after the RELOAD, the revolution is in market…

In a friendly way

WTF?

Greek to me. Anyone?

Thought this was a UK forum.

Perhaps its that funny law they have in France to "protect" their language - by ignoring everyone else's

LOL

Good evening,

Today is the day of the official launch of a new generation of processors known up until now as code name "Penryn"

Finally the time has come for the beginning of real ecological processors !

Why is this processor ecological?

- Firstly, it is burnt in 45nm instead of 65nm. Result? less energy is needed to run this processor than the same version in 65nm meaning that we save more energy and do one more thing to protect our environment.

- This is the 1st processor that does not require lead for its production. Another step for the ecology.

- The processor does not use silicium dioxide any more as an insulator but hafnium. As a result, the processor consumes much less energy when applications do not require computing power. Indeed, the processor falls into a "deep sleep" state: the cache of level 1 and 2 is disabled and the CPU voltage is lowered. One more step for ecology.

We are very pleased to see this kind of processor finally on the market. It is indeed crazy to see the consumption of a 65nm processor (and the older generations) which does not actually vary depending on the real use of computing power! The processor still consumes as much watt during the day and night. What a waste! With 45nm, it's finished. When using the processor, the server consumes energy (this is normal), but as soon as there is nothing left to calculate, the server greatly reduces its electric consumption. We estimate that approximately 40% of time (almost all night long), the processor will operate in standby mode.

We started testing this processor around 2 months ago. We validated the platforms about 1 month ago and since then we have been ready. We have had to just wait for the release date of Penryn ... That's today at midnight and we are here to offer it.

OVH is pleased to offer this new processor in the new Kimsufi XXL server. We have selected the processor E7200 running
2x2.53GHz with 3MB L2 cache and 1066MHz FSB. It is a processor manufactured in 45nm with no lead and allowing important electrical savings and therefore very environmentally friendly.

We would like to thank Intel for having accepted this new processor for the world release of Penryn. We have received (by express delivery) this very morning (Saturday) the 25 processors and a few hours later the 25 dedicated servers with Penryn are in the racks and ready to be delivered.

We are going to deliver 11 servers to our customers who have ordered the Kimsufi XXL without any information from us! To thank these faithful customers, we will offer them a Kimsufi XXL for 1 year! It is the least we can do! During the week, we will receive the necessary quantities of this processor to ensure deliveries within 1h.

After the RELOAD, the revolution is on...

Regards,

Octave
