Thank you so much OVH for listening!!!

This one hour setup is beyond amazing. Like many others, I would be completely fine with an extra fee for this very fast setup!
And I would also be very happy with 3 day setup as the regular, non-fee amount of time.

Thanks once again OVH, if you keep going on as you are, with awesome products and truly listening to customer feedback, then I have no doubt whatsoever that you will steadily grow and have many happy and returning customers (I know I will be!)

Just make sure that the website is clear that the 1h delivery time isn't guaranteed and all is good

See, even Google Translate does a shoddy job. Imagine a native French person writing in English >runs and hides<

Thats great.
I think the way it is is the way forward.
If we get it in 1 hour then spanking gorgeous,if its more than 1 hour then not to worry it happens.

Well its nice to know you're not going to keep forcing upon us the super expensive setup, but I had problems understanding the translated post, so maybe someone can inform me as to what the part that states that too many clients are in agreement really means...

I don't mind the usual wait for someone to translate this...but OVH has a considerable human resource pool...is there no single person who speaks both French/English who can translate what is effectively a Press Release into common English for the forum members?

Hello,

On Friday, we announced some changes in the delivery of
dedicated servers. These developments aimed to (better) manage the servers turnover.

We spent the weekend talking with customers through
mailing list and forum. It was extremely interesting to have a point of
view from all horizons and all countries where OVH markets its products on.

In the end we decided not to apply (!) the modification and
^^^^^^
to continue to deliver all the servers in "express" without installation costs,
without commitment, with 100Mbps by default and "very" interesting price.

Basically, it changes nothing!

Why?
----------
Almost all clients agreed with the measures that we were going to put in place.
The delivery of servers in 1 hour is an OVH exclusivity. Even if sometimes
it is difficult to take stock of all the references and on a few (dozen)
hours (3-4 days) of delay, proposing a server within 1 hour has a great
value for our customers. The idea of ensuring that 1H contract delivery
with a specific billing is therefore a real need. Also, since with payments
for longer periods we offer this type of delivery, it would motivate customers
to pay over 6 or 12 months.

So perfect, we can do it! Everyone agrees! Here we go!

NO.

We noticed that too many customers agreed with what was proposed, while
normally clients moan a lot. We feel that it hides a
forest that may not be told. Basically, we had (almost) the impression
that customers are happy to pay 150% more to get the server in 1 hour.

We keep the idea but not apply it now. We must say that we have become
used to manage the current turnover and what we want is that it does not
increase. To have 4000 servers in the stock available in 1 hour is ok,
but 8000, that's different! But with more and more servers (we have exceeded
55,000 servers) the turnover and the stock of available servers in 1 hour increases.
So we will try to take steps from today to ensure that the problem won't be too important
when we have 70,000, 100,000 or 150,000 servers.

Basically, optimize everything. Anyway we must also assume that we become No. 1
in Europe. We cannot (maybe) be one without the other. Hmm ...

Also, we must also say that we have already had a case of feedback from customers
who did not correspond to reality. On the paper and discussing the say yes. In reality,
the customer behave differently.

This is DC1 (we'll talk about it later). Here we feel
something along the same lines, everyone says that this is good but we think the truth elsewhere.

So, we don't change anything.

Thank you for your feedback and your 673 emails (and our 112 responses) ...

Regards,

Octave
