Hello,
For 2 days, Windows 2008 has been available to dedicated servers in Beta
version. It's the Web Edition Service Pack 2. It's specially for Web,
so it doesn't have Active Directory. By in contrast, you can go up to
32GB of RAM in the 64 bits version (uuuooouuu!).
The license costs £15/month for Kimsufi, SP, EG and £30/month for MG and
HG(2 processors = 2 licenses = 2x£15/month), (all prices VAT excluded).
We'll propose in the next days the Datacenter edition, which allows virtualization
and all the functionalities disabled in the Web Edition. This will be £75/month/CPU (VAT excluded).
The Beta versions are in English. But the final version will be in 43 languages minimum.

To order:
- with a new server, the choice of distribution is done during the order
- with an existent server, the reinstallation of 2003 and 2008 is done
in the manager. If you don't have a 2003 license, then you'll have to
order it in the manager
The rumor (to verify with your SPLA reseller):
for those who ask us to use your own SPLA license in our hardware,
it seems that Microsoft prohibits to install an SPLA license in a hardware
that doesn't belong to them. But as the Microsoft contracts are always
so clear that ... I search.....the verification is needed with your SPLA
reseller (that will go to Microsoft that will go to ....I search.... and maybe
you'll have an answer from a person). And this is just the rumour.
Sincerely,
Octave
