Because xfs is a faster filesystem than ext3.

Exciting as the above clearly is, I figured out how to change the /data partition to xfs, etc.

As this most likely an empty FS, just re-create it on the partition as xfs.
Don't know why you want to use xfs.

Thank you.
'df -h' returns:
/dev/md3 2.7T
So the partition is indeed active. Can I ask: how do I convert it to xfs?
This is what you did for the drives right?

Thanks slayer,
Do you know if gparted will run under xfce?
EDIT: gigabit: Where do you see that?
The partition is already made, and mounted as /data

Nothing there suggests RAID1. Especially the 3TB raid partition which will be result of RAID0 on the 2 drives (of 1.5TB each).

After a closer look, as far as I can tell the two HDDs are still in RAID1!
Can someone please confirm this for me from the following screenshot:

And to think I used to play with "DoubleDisk" on a 20MB Harddrive...

I guess I did something wrong the first time. Works fine now:

Yeh that's correct, that will give you RAID0.

Did that ... on the following page you can select RAID0 from the drop-down.
However, when the server has finished installing the HDDs remain in RAID1 ...
Click the "RAID type" button, it explains it - you need to have the / or /boot partition in raid 1 first then you can select different raid types for other patitions.

I've opened a ticket, but thought I'd ask you wise folks too.
I can't see any option to select RAID0 in the Manager:
01.
02.
Anyone?
