Decided to cancel and switch to a harddrive based machine instead
Same price, less ram though
It was setup within 2 hours, currently messing with it now. :P

Many thanks to Sophie for the quick setup!

I ordered ages ago, and marks emailed me and said it should have been within 2-3 days which was over 3 days ago

Heh typical, the server I ordered was an EG :P
Any idea how long the backlog is? or perhaps a rough ETA?

For some extra information about how these numbers works, please take a look on the explanation made by the company director:

Also is important to understand that those numbers are a guidance, and in any case can be taken as guaranteed.

How this shed some more light on this issue. I'll try to keep you updated as I've got more information.

Cheers guys!

I think they should put a notice on the SSD server pages to warn potention buyers that there's a delay of "upto 2 weeks", as it'll be two weeks for me as of Friday. :P
Note: I'm not in anyway angry at OVH, but those numbers on the order page (1H/72H) are a tad deceptive.
I agree with this, i am not annoyed it would just be nice to be kept in the loop.

I received an email from marc telling me it should be deployed in 2-3 days hopefully!

You should know by now support don't work weekends. It's now Monday and there will be a backlog of e-mails to get through. Ring them if you're desperate.

I have messaged staff by email but never get a reply asking how long the delay is and what the delay is and its been over the 72 hours, i just wish to know

mimi2008

is there any rough idea as to when the ssd drives will be in so these can start being deployed then

AdamD

I think there should be a small note to say the time quoted is just an estimate/guideline, that way people won't ASSUME it'll be done, within the time shown.

But yea, I ordered my EG SSD on the 16th and I'm still waiting, but I DID get a reply to my query to their email address, saying there was a delay

So I shall remain patient (And somewhat excited heh)

As above, it starts on the day the server is deployed.

The billing period starts at the server's deployment date

Out of curiosity, if a server deployment is significantly delayed do OVH credit you with extra days of service, or does the billing cycle only start running after deployment?

I mean, 9 days of the MG SSD is worth about £30, so it's not a totally insignificant amount of money.
