I cannot tell you for sure what model the LSI is running (we may use different models depending on the supplies), but I can tell you that you can manage it as you want with the application lsiutil and you can do most of the common tasks and configurations: RAID0 and RAID1.
Currently rent an oldskool EG Bestof which of course came with a Hardware Raid card, 3Ware to be exact, no I understand that the newer EG Bestof don't come with Hardware Raid and come at additional costs.
So my question is to fellow OVH users to lend any advice they might have in this situation. I understand that with Hardware Raid, the stress is taken off the CPU, but with Raid0, I'm not to sure how important this is.
I'm interested in comparisons of Read/Write and Random Access tests if possible.
P.S - Would be good to know what LSI cards OVH is using out of interest, I know with my current EG Bestof the 3Ware is not very configurable in the way of stripe sizes etc.
