Yeah you will need a good few drives to get that speed sustained. You can probably burst to it with just less but not sustain it. You can of course serve files from memory too.

Of course not. No single drive can. Multiple drives in use however will be able to. Since HG servers have a fair number of them, you should be able to given enough traffic.

can the hard-drives in those servers cope with 1.25GB/s (10gbit) output/input?
