Not sure if it is signed by OVH or not, but if it is, OVH can be a "sub" CA of either those you have mentioned (Verisign, et al). In that case, the certificate is indeed accepted by most browsers. And to become a "sub" CA isn't something anyone can do.

Personally I'm using another provider (already mentioned here) with certs that are not IP bound (just domain bound), which is good enough for basic security and portable.

If you are looking for a cheap SSL cert for a domain, not hosted by OVH, GoDaddy currently has an offer, £7.96/year for a Single Standard SSL certificate.
If you're limited to a budget or cutting costs then go elsewhere, however I personally prefer having everything under one roof (except my backups).

It's hard to interpret that as meaning anything other than that you get an extra IP.

Ah, that's a bit crap.

Oles kinda implied you'd get an IP with it.

Oles mentioned elsewhere you get an IP with an OVH cert - can someone confirm this?
no, you have to assign the SSL certificate to any IP available in your server. That's not provided by OVH with the certificate.

Nice, didn't know that!

They do PositiveSSL or RapidSSL for $9.99 too.

What about Wildcard SSL ?

.tel domains are useless domains. When you register one, you cannot host your own website(s) under it. Instead you get a directory-like website, provided by the .tel registrar, to list your phone numbers, e-mail addresses, etc. Utterly useless.

Have a look at www.ovh.tel for example - everyone gets the same thing under a .tel.

It's up on the UK site now for anyone who's interested: http://www.ovh.co.uk/ssl/ssl_standard.xml

Just wondering, why doesn't it support .tel domains?

What's the root of the certificate? Is it recognised in IE6 and other horrible browsers people insist on using?

Standard SSL Certificates can be installed on any domain registered at OVH that points to a dedicated server. If your domain is registered with OVH, you can fetching.
So OVH needs to be the registrar?

And the advantage of this certificate against RapidSSL/PositiveSSL (cheaper) is that you get an additional IP address with it?
