It looks like a shared gigabit connection, pretty standard for VPSes.

It's running under VMWare, too.

I've got mine, just playing with it at the moment. Installing Gnome Core to it and freenx, downloading at 3000KB/s. Not bad!
I'll tell you more about what it's like as far as speed once I get the remote desktop up and running.

It'd be nice if OVH could give us some more info:
-Setup fees?
-Connection 100mbit/s ? (Is it dedicated connection per server?)
-CPU resources fixed or are they variable?
-Bandwidth restrictions

etc.

A free MiniCloud server will be available for 3 days and not for 1 week (as previously announced).

This beta test is strictly for OVH customers who currently have at least one active service.

Anyone know the time this will become available?

Edit: the server time is 5 minutes slow.

I'd like to be able to apply.

I can provide between 20-60mbps (depending on time) linking to large static files such as mp3's (legal of course).

Type: Cluster VPS

Port Blocking: 25 Blocked, Port Scans Will Get the VPS Banned.

I would assume we have root access.

Can we reinstall if we screw up the OS?

how much ram for the mini config? do we have root access?? I've seen it has 256 of ram ( which I would not mind to use for testing, but I would need 512MB for production )

How to apply? I'm interested in testing miniCloud since I need cloud hosting and would generate lot of traffic on small static files. I'm surely future owner of one of these!

2ème semaine.

On cherche 500 bêta testeurs chaque semaine.

test durant 1 semaine encore.

En suite, on démarre l'offre "minicloud" et on lance la bêta de "corecloud"
avec le même principe. Puis pareil pour "mycloud".

Amicalement

Hello,
We had the sense of our record in a RIPE / 15
(178.32.0.0/15) is 131'000 IP time to route in the BGP
/ 15 correctly and prepare a few pages in the manager, we
will begin beta testing in Thursday afternoon.

Beta testing will be totally free.

Reserved for our customers.

What we want to test?
---------------------------------
We want your feedback "pragmatic" operating a
VM with some resources for 1 week. This means that during
1 weeks, you have access to a Debian VM with 1 / 4 core, 256
RAM and 5GB of disk space. After 1 week the test is completed
and the VM is cleared. Other people can start testing the
2nd week.

We search 500 beta testers every week.

If more than 500 beta testers the 1st week after 1 week
testers who were unable to test the VM during the 1st week, will
be the following to be delivered by VM and will be able to test the VM
2nd week. Then the 3rd week, then ... the time required
so that everyone can get an idea of what is the "miniCloud.

The order process is very simple: you'll be able to spend 1
command for 1 VM. Order free. The VM will be delivered (in 15
minutes) then you will be able to test it for 1 week in all
direction (port 25 is blocked by default, scans are automatically
detected and the VM is closed). After 1 week the test is completed,
MV is erased. And you can order a new VM for 1 new
test for 1 week again.

Next, we start offering "miniCloud" and we launch the beta of "coreCloud"
with the same principle. Then the same for "myCloud.

Regards
Octave
Where do i signup?

Any chance of having Ubuntu Hardy Instead of debian?

Can we stop the VM being deleted after 1 week or not?

I can generate upto 4Mbps at peck times and very low CPU AND RAM its will be used for Hosting static files.

Hello,

We have just had our record accepted at RIPE for a /15 (178.32.0.0/15) for 131,000 IP's The router time in BGP for this /15 is corrected and prepared in the pages in the Manager and we will start beta testing on Thursday afternoon.

Beta testing will be totally free.

Reserved for our customers.

What do we want to test ?
---------------------------------
We want to have your "Pragmatic" feedback of the functioning of VM with certain resources over 1 week. That is, for 1 week, you will have access to a VM with Debian 1/4 core, 256MB RAM and 5GB of disk space. After 1 week the test will be completed and the VM is cleared. Other people can start testing the 2nd week.

We are searching for 500 beta testers for each week.

If there are more than 500 beta testers in the 1st week, testers who did not test the VM during the 1st week will be next to be delivered the VM and will be able to test the VM in the 2nd week. Then the 3rd week and so on.. the time it takes for everyone to get an idea of the "miniCloud".

The order process is very simple: you'll be able to by-pass 1 order for 1 VM. Order free. The VM will be delivered (in 15 minutes) then you will be able to test it for 1 week in all ways (port 25 is blocked by default, scans are automatically detected and the VM is closed). After 1 week, the test is completed and the VM is cleared. And you can order a new VM for 1 new test for 1 week again

Next, we will begin offering the "miniCloud" and we will launch the beta of "coreCloud" with the same principle. Then the same for "myCloud"

All the best,
Octave
