Hello,
An interesting question that I can develop and respond to everyone.

The difference with free offers is that our offerings are paying.
Our job is to provide technical services and therefore functional.
Provision of storage, bandwidth resources, resources
CPU, RAM, SQL, HTTP, email etc.. There was no other trade
than we do. Ovh is not an advertising board. Ovh does not sell books.
Ovh is no other profession that they sell and they sell resources
our data centers, our plants that we built "from scratch". We do
should not therefore invent economic model to find money to fund
what we offer. It is much simpler: we bill our clients for these
benefits. Sorry: no innovation at this level. It is very low there.
You pay these benefits by purchasing a share of our resources
plants. And OVH provides these resources that you used to store and manipulate
data and these data are to you. We can not see what you do
with your data, or even what your data and it does not interest us.
This is not our business. You simply need to respect the contract and remain
within the resources we praise you. And if you need more,
we service for you but it costs more. It's simple. Our
benefit is purely technical, purely functional as you use
to spread what you want to whomever you want.

For me the equivalent of "do not be evil" is at the level of capital
Company. The system in which I live does not suit me and through the
OVH project I try to find but also prove that something else
and may be better can exist. Normally the capital of a company is
investment. This investment helps to provide the services then
earn money. So, the ultimate goal of a business becomes ever
earn money. Ovh never run that way. It works
the opposite: we sell services that allow us to invest in a suite. It is
to say that we are condemned to sell without losing money and fighting all
days with the costs. And then there are 2 issues that arise in everyday life: where
costs are and what needs investment. This determines the price
each service. And our concern is to preserve the equilibrium "price = cost + investment".
It should be interesting for both our customers and for OVH. For our customers
the price level. If our customers purchase. For Ovh level of investment.
For that we continue to invest, innovate and propose new. You have realized,
the opposite of "all" box, OVH does not pay the principal and therefore our balance
is not "cost + investment + dividends = price". Consequence: there are more price
low or / and our investments are stronger and / or through our R & D costs for our return
are lower. And it's much more socially useful than a simple "earn argen" t.
In 10 years of existence of OVH and the simple fact that this project has become a major
in the European landscape, we can say that it gives results very encouraging and
This motivates us to continue. Is what happens to bugger all our competitors
world which remain on the old model "make money" or we will force them to
pass on our model and find a better model? Time will tell ...
Ovh only 10 years ... In any case, the purely financial model, everyone has
saw, leads to nothing ...

To return to the Cloud
--------------------------
It has never invented anything better than a dedicated server. 1 client / server.
Dedicated resources. A wide range of products. No limit on number
servers. Lots of options.

2 problems:
No. 1 even if Ovh established distributions 1 click, which allowed
moving ahead full-full of customers (and us to reach 70,000
leased servers), it was full of customers who do not leap,
because they do not want this responsibility is more. They
preferred solutions "Shared" when they have nothing to do.
No. 2 the price of a dedicated server starts 30/50euro. It is not expensive for a
dedicated server. but it's still 30/50euro. With the RPS is 10euro
and we saw that it had some resonance among a lot of customers
even if the disk resources are not dedicated, but pooled.

This is called "Cloud" at OVH is
- Offers VPS (you have root on the server you can install
distribution of your choice)
- With the potential to modulate the resources used in time
and the time of use of such resources and / or VPS / VM
- Running on a shared cloud (miniCloud or coreCloud) or dedicated
(myCloud)

So it solves the problem No. 1 namely the administration of infrastructure for
OVH manages it all. Nothing revolutionary. A competitor has done
7-8years. And it solves the problem No. 2 because it starts 2euro HT / month. And there is
new. The prices very low compared to our competitors. "nothing
revolutionary ", OVH has already done for 2-3 years ... but for the pros, those
who can administer a dedicated server.

"cloud" is a way for us to bring you something
made the success of OVH namely the dedicated server. It was successful because
Technically we found nothing better for the projects you have. But
with miniCloud you can start in an OS / distrib dedicated
2euro to HT / month and if this needs to increase the resources
you need. A 15-20euro HT / month, you go find that migrate
coreCloud is more interesting than staying in miniCloud. You'll do
1-click and you'll spend in coreCloud 10-15euro instead of 15-20euro
in miniCloud. Then the need arises you will increase the resources
to 60-70euro. 60-70euro you'll find more interesting myCloud
and you can switch to 50EURO HT / month. Bingo! Once you're in an environment
dedicated. It is You have arrived at the final stage: dedicated, but in a
environment that solves the problem still No. 1.

When I talk about price, if you want to compare with our competitors today
for each digit must be a minimum x2 x6 (especially at myCloud).
That is the equivalent of miniCloud is about x4 x5 x6 also
coreCloud equivalent to x2 x3 x4 myCloud x2 x3 x4 x5 x6 ... x10 there is no
no limit, because if you compare a MG to 150euro VAT / month for a VPS anything
is x3 or x4. The sacred savings on the horizon ...

Now so it takes 4 VM 2euro HT / month and it adds a load balancing hard
of the 4 VM ... nobody has anything to that level ... same level
flexible storage at NAS / SAN Storage managed ... but I think the real
VPN difference comes because many boxes (all types) want
connect their myCloud at OVH to sub and they have already and will "increase
the size of their existing cloud "with flexibility, speed and ease mad.

All this is already suggested (or is being prepared) at servers
dedicated. The "Cloud" and "Mutu" are 2 ways to pool these offers qu'Ovh
offers dedicated server.

Cant wait to try it

But will there be the £50 setup fee?

Hello,
An interesting question that I can develop and respond to for everyone.

The difference with free offers is that our offers are paid for.
Our job is to provide technical services which are therefore functional.
Such as the provision of storage, bandwidth resources,
CPU, RAM, SQL, HTTP, email etc.. We do not do any other trade off.
Ovh is not an advertising board. Ovh does not sell books.
Ovh is no other profession that they sell and they sell resources such as

should not therefore create an economic model to find money to fund
our offers. There is a much simpler solution: bill our clients for these
benefits. Sorry: no innovation at this level. Innovation is at a very low level there.
You pay these benefits by purchasing a share of our resources
and OVH provides these resources that you can use to store and manipulate
your data and this 'data' belongs to you. We can not see what you do
with your data, or even what your data is, and, it is of no interest to us.
It is none of our business. You simply need to respect the contract with OVH and remain
within the limits of the resources you have rented from us. And if you need more,
we have a service for you but it costs more. It's simple. Our
benefit is purely technical, purely functional as you use us
to spread what you want to whomever you want.

For me the equivalent of "do not be evil" is at the level of capital of a
Company. The system in which I live does not suit me and through this
OVH project, I am not only trying to find something but also prove something else
which may exist and may be better than before. Normally the capital of a company is used
for investment. This investment helps to provide the services which in turn
earn money. So, the ultimate goal of a business becomes solely to
earn money. Ovh will never be run that way. It works
the opposite way: we sell services that allow us to invest more. That is
to say that we are condemned to sell without losing money and fighting our costs everyday.
Next, there are 2 issues that arise in everyday life: where are costs
costs coming from and what needs investment. This determines the price
each service. Our concern is to preserve the equilibrium of "price = cost + investment".
It should be of interest to both customers and OVH. For our customers
the price level, for each of our customers purchases. For Ovh, level of investment,
so that we can continue to invest, innovate and propose new ideas and solutions. You should now have realised,
the opposite of "all" box, OVH does not pay for the principal and therefore our balance
is not "cost + investment + dividends = price". Consequences: there are more prices

In the 10 years of existence of OVH the simple fact is that this project has become a major force
in the European landscape, we can say that it gives very encouraging results and
this is what motivates us to continue. Exactly this, happens to bugger all of our competitors
throughout the world which remain on the old model to just "make money", or, we will force them to
pass on our model in order to find a better model? Time will tell ...
Ovh is only 10 years old ... In any case, the purely financial model, as everyone has

because they do not want this responsibility. They
preferred "Shared" solutions where they have nothing to do.

No. 2 the price of a dedicated server starts 30/50euro. This really is not too expensive for a
dedicated server. but it's still 30/50euro. The RPS costs just 10euro

So this solves problem No.1, namely the administration of the infrastructure since
OVH manages it all. Nothing revolutionary. A competitor has done this for

When I talk about price, if you want to compare OVH with our competitors today
for every figure there must be a minimum x2 x6 (especially at myCloud).
That means the equivalent of miniCloud is about x4 x5 x6 elsewhere,
with regards to coreCloud, the equivalent is x2 x3 x4 and also, myCloud x2 x3 x4 x5 x6 ... x10
there is no limit, because if you compare an MG at 150euro VAT/month to a VPS anything
is x3 or x4. The sacred savings are on the horizon ...

Now, it takes 4 VM 2euro Ex.VAT/month and it adds a load balancing hard
of the 4 VM ... nobody has anything to that level ... At the same level
with flexible storage at NAS/SAN managed storage... but I think that the
real difference will come from VPN because a lot of companies (anyone)
will want to link their myCloud at Ovh to the infrastructures they already
have and then they will be able to "increase the size/space of their existing cloud"
with an "amazing" flexibility, fastness and easyness.

All this has already been suggested (or being prepared) for dedicated servers.
The "Cloud" and "Shared" are 2 ways to pool these offers that OVH
offers with our dedicated servers.
