On windws server I have done the following:
1) added virtual mac to failover IP
2) added a Microsoft Loopback adapter
3) assigned the virtual mac id as the network address to the loopback
4) assigned the failover IP as the IP of the loopback
5) assined 255.255.255.255 as the subnet
6) assigned the failover IP as the default gateway.
I have tried sharing the primary IP's internet connection, which provided one way internet communication but the failover IP is still not seen. I also did not think this was required with virtual mac's?
Anyone know what is ment to be specified for using a virtual mac, I'd assumed it should act as an independant NIC as it had a mac assigned that ovh was aware of - but if anyone could enlighed me on the use of these it would be great.
cheers
