Yeah, after I posted and went to get vBulletin i see it is a commercial product.

I prefer the whole free software and open source system, they can fix their own problems. I doubt I would see any kind of remuneration from it.

I may well grab vBulletin, patch that part and send it back to them for inclusion. The patch would be trivial.

Hi

For spam and security we manually validated all new users, so once we have validated them you will be able to click on their profile page. Although vBulletin should have a different message really....

Probably when the user has not clicked the activation e-mail it does that. Who knows, but why would you want to see a new users profile? Also the memeber list is also blocked to all members.

If I click on the forum main page http://forum.ovh.co.uk/index.php the bottom of it has "What's going on?"

The issue I have (and have had for as long as I can recall) is the part
"Welcome to our newest member, "

If I click on the member name I get a dialog with the following text:
Code:
vBulletin Message
gregoryfenton, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
I can view other member's profiles just fine, just not the newest member.

Happy Easter everyone
