My first install was version 7.0.0.1, after it was installed i took one look and thought no way, then uninstalled it.

I've gone back to my trusty 6.4.0.5 version for dummies.

I'm running version 6.4.0.5 of Serv-U (If you want that version email me)

I have found this tutorial if its any use to you, its all pretty much the same.
hxxp://www.submissionz.com/resources/serv.html

What i did wrong when i was trying to connect to the server, was type the wrong username in - Silly or what.

Double check your username - "users" on Serv-U.

What FTP Program did you put on the server, i use a program called Serv-U (Google Serv-U tutorial).

I use CuteFTP to connect to the server - It is pretty straight forward and simple.

Let me do some screenshots for you.

================================================== ========================

As i don't know what FTP Program you are using, I'm going to have to wing this.

There should be a function on your FTP Program to create a new server connection.

It should look in the region like this.

1. Enter desired name (Me).
2. IP Address of you your server.
3. Enter server username you created when setting up FTP on the server.
4. Enter password you created when setting up FTP on the server.

Simpler option: At the top of the FTP program you should see.
Host:, Username: Password:, Port: 21
Just fill them in, then connect.

this might be a simple question, but I cant seem to figure it out ...

Yesterday I set up the ftp on my server so that should be alright, but I cant seem to find how I can make an account that is allowed to connect thru ftp with the server ...
If anyone could help me out with this, it would be greatly appreciated
