You're unlikely to get any compensation because (1) it's Kimsufi and (2) there's no SLA on the bandwidth you receive, just that it's 3TB and you have at least a 100Mbps NIC.

(which is unfortunate)

thanks again.
Its been assigned to Angy who will look at the ticket, however it is a Kimsufi server, so the priority first is the OVH servers.

They were talking about the speed test in the Rescue Mode. But the test you've run is also valid. Now, just wait for the engineers to answer your ticket.

When reporting a problem, always add any test to support your claim (if run in rescue mode, better). The resolution of the problem would be much quicker then.

hey mate thanks for this. i tried with

wget http://cachefly.cachefly.net/100mb.test

and got the exact same results it simply would not move above 1.2mB/s i have copied the results in here. I am still awaiting a response to my ticket and so far i have had my box limited in speed since its renewal on the 20th which really sucks.

I'm not sure on what conditions the network test will appear for a server -- I've seen it on some but not others. Your response from support suggested that it would appear on yours though.

You should cover all bases though (to try and prevent a 24 hour wait for a reply again). Run whatever tests are there, report their success (or failure...) then run a wget from SSH e.g. "wget ftp://scarlet.feralhosting.com/deb.iso".

That server is on the OVH network and should achieve 10-12MB/s (it is just a 100Mbps though).

interesting. i had not realised ovh had introduced an option to run a network test thru rescue-pro (i have been away so missed that memo)

i just rebooted in rescue mode and accessed the url however, i am still only showing the usual hardware tests? have they taken the network tests offline or something?

What were the results of the OVH network test?

I've never seen one of those fail but I'm curious as to what happens.

Hi guys, i am after some help please. Since my server got renewed the speed has still been capped at 10meg. Even though my current traffic allowance is well under the 3tb limit. So i proceeded to raise a ticket.

Here was the response.

"Dear customer,

Please proceed to tests of your bandwidth with rescue mode in the network section through the graphic interface:
http://pomoc.ovh.pl/TrybRescue

You test the upload of your server and the the speed of your connection to your server and even from the OVH network."

i was wondering if someone could enlighten me as to what kind of info i am expected to provide to get this matter resolved? I have run mulitple transfers between uncapped ovh boxes and this troublesome one and none can provide me greater speeds than 10meg.

any help greatly appreciated.
