I really don't know all the details, but you haven't run a multi million 500Gbps network either....

My point, not sure what Rapid's point is, is that it isn't that easy, you can't just email 10,000 clients and all of them will jump for joy at your service..

It isn't actually as easy as plugging cables in, and it isn't the same network as OVH internal that you and I use, there is a great deal of work involved to keep everything running properly. Hence the whole only 20% of the equipment is still useable bit...

You need to read again - specifically the quoted portion.

How are you going to make any money, if you don't wish to be bothered to go out of your way to get the client?

If it costs a million a month to run (unlikely, as CHTIX is OVH's internal network that you and I pay for as well), then go get 10,000 clients or price the service accordingly. Don't sit on your a$$ and moan about the amount of work and time it takes to gain a client?!

The same happened with Strato; they asked for too many financial details about OVH according to Oles and he didn't want to deal with that (especially because "they're the one on sale here"), so the bid fell through...

You sir are a tool.

You can't reap anything no matter how much you plant, if you make 100 euro from a service that is costing you millions to run...

Well, all I can say is: You can't reap a harvest if you don't intend to plant any seeds.

Hello
There is a little over two years we have launched the project "chtix"
which was to provide secure channels for
Smaller players, IP transit and peering point.

The project was soon start a powerful brake:
Orange has agreed to peer with OVH provided that no
not resell bandwidth to other operators ... We
did not refuse the proposal.

But we made several mistakes on the project and it is
time to conclude. As against these errors we have uncovered
develop theories of marketing have led to
profound changes in OVH. Like what, it was not
flunked ...

Errors? Working with operators is a work
emotional and non-functional. Must shake hands and
provide documentation to reassure policymakers thick.
Nothing to do with what we have tried to establish
namely a functional service, accessible and available in 1 click
in 24 hours, for a price "too expensive" and suddenly "not credible"
especially since we could not take two hours each day
to visit a prospect across Europe and sell
Service 100Euro HT / month often in 14 or 18 months ... Brief
crash across the width and depth as it should ...

On the other hand, we have invested in equipment that is
really unreliable. But not really. After 2 years
we must keep 20% of material that remains alive ... Other
hand, the SPLM is beginning to pose serious problems and we will
disable it by replacing it by GRE tunnels. Basically
the network is there to OVH and our customers. Not to make rabe
with ...

But the main problem is that this is not a mass market.
And we were to create a market (and not take a share
existing market). Or become a trader, especially in Europe,
this is not the dream of everybody. Often it takes time.
And in 100% of cases, good ideas we will not give a
competitor. Then there's an effect of shame in saying we use
service of others. So a closed market in which everyone buzzed
tries to show how it is better than the other ...

We think this type of service must be in the market prices
(Or 20x more expensive), with a European sales team,
documentation of 1cm thick and with a network dedicated to
this activity and all this for some 65,000 customers (AS)
potential in the world ...

The "less than 10 clients" will be terminated within 30 days.

And we move on

Regards
Octave

Hello

It has been a little over two years since we launched the project "chtix" which aimed to provide secure channels for smaller operators, IP transit and peering point.

This project started briskly and got a break: Orange agreed to peer with OVH provided that no reselling of bandwidth to other operators occurs ... Which
we gladly accepted.

Sadly, we made several mistakes on the project and the time has come to conclude. Along with these errors we have uncovered developing theories of marketing which have led to profound changes in OVH. Such as, well, all has not been lost ...

Errors? Working with operators is an emotional and non-functional aspect of our work. We must shake hands and provide documentation to reassure policymakers all is above board. Nothing to do with the fact we have tried to establish a functional service, accessible and available with 1 click
in 24 hours, for a price which is "inexpensive" and "not credible" all of a sudden, especially since we can not take two hours each day
to visit a prospective client anywhere across Europe and sell one Service for 100Euro which will happen which will happen less often over a 14 or 18 months period... In brief, bend over backwards as is necessary ...

From the other side, we have invested in equipment that is really unreliable. But this is not true. After 2 years 20% of the material still remains live ... On the other hand, the SPLM is beginning to pose serious problems and we will disable it by replacing it with GRE tunnels. Basically the network is there for OVH and our customers. This is our primary use for our network...

But the biggest problem is that this is not a mass market. We want to create new markets for you (and not just take a share of the existing market) or simply become a trader, especially in Europe, this is not the dream of everybody. Often it takes some time. And in 100% of cases, good ideas are not shared with a competitor. Then there can be the embarrassment of saying we use the services of others. This leads to a closed market in which everyone buzzed trying to show how they are better than the other ...

We believe this type of service must be in the market place at suitable prices (Or 20x more expensive), with a European sales team, documented and licensed and with a network dedicated to all this activity and for some 65,000 customers potentially throughout the world ...

Service to the "10 or so clients" will be terminated within 30 days.

And we move forward
