Emhh no Proxmox is a Virtualisation platform it use KVM and OpenVZ for virtualisation. You need to order 3ware raid + Professional use.

you can choose proxmox. And install different OS on the server. Like VPS systems.

3ware/LSI is the manufacturer of the hardware RAID controllers (see http://www.3ware.com/). The "0/1/5", etc stands for the different RAID types supported (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID).

The difference is basically offloading the CPU from doing the (soft)RAID task - which on Linux is simply a software package. This obviously results in better disk and server performance.

if the model with the same specs and RAID card is ready in the datacentre, it could take very short time. If it's not, and must be fitted, which is most of the cases for RAID cards, then it'll be a bit longer.

When you guys order a new server with hardware raid, do you find its setup within 1 hour ? Or is it generally closer to the 72 hours?
