Still going on. Good thing is the trackers will be moved to another host within the next month. Hopefully it's not the whole subnet that's blocked

Maybe they are.
Would be nice of OVH to tell the guy why though, if not here then in the PM/ticket he raised.
He's been decent enough to contact OVH directly and been very upfront about past issues.

Least OVH can do is answer him back within a week or so.
Maybe the bad scanner is still there, but maybe it's OVH's stoopid script?
Now back in here trying to get that answer.

Same old story innit. No proper support so someone comes to the forum in sheer frustration.

It would be nice to know the reason. Supported with logs etc

Can you explain more about the blocklists?
Will IP's still get blocked for weeks?
Can we view or search for the blocked IP's?

Thanks for using us REAL CUSTOMERS as guinea pigs for your scripts.
Really helpfull that.
NOT!

In fact, it's pretty disgraceful.
I should be charging OVH for my time assisting them root out THEIR issues.

Still unresolved at the moment, it's not been forgotten about. The IP was re-blocked by a script I believe.

Andy.

Confirmed.

Are you sure you cleared that hack?
Maybe OVH banned the IP again?

ODT, I still haven't got the email address we should look for in abuse@ovh.net, could you email us and tell us it so I can chase this up.

12/8/10 was about 3 weeks ago!

So yeah.
As suspected.

OVH are using outdated blacklists which is awful because when server admins are trying to work out what the issue is with their OVH server they have to check their own configuration first to make sure it's not their config issue, which takes time (usually at the most inconvenient time!)

If OVH have a system that checks for bad scans and adds this to a blacklist then great, but why not refresh the list every 6 hours, or even 24 hours, but not weeks?!?!

Surely OVH can also be a little bit more dynamic than an invisible blacklist by providing us a way to check if an IP is blocked via the OVH Manager?

Problem occurs since 12-8...really hope its gets solved

How intersesting!

I have posted in another thread about OVH blocking IP's for week(s) after the scans that caused the ban have stopped. ie when a site gets hacked and the owner fixes the issue, just like you!
This is a classic example and it would be interesting to know how long ago your site was hacked (or when you found out) and when was it fixed?

Hello,

I operate two sports trackers:
worldboxingvideoarchive.com
cyclingtorrents.nl

Unfortunately due to an outdated wordpress version on another site on the server, an attacker uploaded a script and did some SSH scans.
I then blocked the attackers IP and removed the entire website using wordpress.
OVH blocked access from my trackers IP, and since many seedbox providers use OVH, a lot of them are unusable.

Since then I'm trying to get my IP unblocked, but sending e-mails to abuse@ovh.net(from a different IP ) did not result in a response.

Any suggestions what I should do?
