Can't set rDNS Records now?

for security reasons, the A record for the host name must point to the right IP before setting the rDNS. As far as I can tell, it has always been like this.

Since I've had OVH servers its always been this way, that is for the last ~12 months. I believe it is to stop for example me creating an rDNS on my IPs for one of your domains then sending a ton of spam emails that to some people will seem to be coming from your domain.

There are a lot of reasons, and I don't feel like I have go over the logistics with you. In a shared environment we need to set rDNS for some purposes.

you must point your A record before you can put an rDNS that makes sense to have a FQDN....
why would u want to point a PTR without an A record?

Why on earth was this implemented? We can no longer setup an rDNS record for an IP, unless the hostname is pointed to the IP first? Why is this, why is there so much 'control' going on with OVH?
