Wait, all those things in the middle of the rbx-1 are routers, not switches? Well, that would explain it then!

I thought you were showing the layer 3 switches!

Rbx-1 is a more distributed structure:
http://weathermap.ovh.net/roubaix-1

in rbx-2 and rbx-3 , the routing is concentrated in a single router, which is duplicated, to make the routing faster and more efficient.

I know they are, I've had to help network a pair of them and yea its crazy. But what is the difference between that and the rbx-1 and 2 Ciscos?

Yup, so, wouldn't it make more sense to have rbx2 and 3 with a map

Hey I know it will take some time (3-4hours), but surely the benefit to your customers would easily outway that?
Its just not possible, the vss's are just one big router. Google Image 'Cisco 6509' and you will see how big some of them are.

Not much detail in the first place, just educated guesses...

So if you choose a 1Gbps nic, you'll be put in RBX2 or 3?......

aren't they always like that? lol

So if http://weathermap.ovh.net/roubaix-1 shows all the rack switches etc for the 100Mbit, why aren't similar link shown for vss-1 and 2 which are the Gbit (and probably 10Gbit) racks? Is it just cos they lazy?

Anyway, the actual question is, based on the weather map(s) it seems internal bandwidth is taking a hammering and certainly the switches are a bit overloaded, is it just me or is there a problem (temporary perhaps) ?
