I'd just renewed it anyway so there is a month on it

Looks like you'll have to wait until Monday for UK support to give it a poke then. :/

I have just transferred one of my i7's and now my renew button doesn't work at all and the guy I tranferred mine to says he has no option to renew the server.
All reference to the box has now gone from my manager though.
Make sure you entered the right NIC handle? There's no confirmation once you click Validate.
The changeover was pretty much instant when I did it, but it can't hurt to leave it a few hours and contact Support if it's still not sorted itself out.
DigitalDaz, not sure, I went to bed before the tech contact was reassigned to me, so several hours passed before I logged into my manager.
But the next day I had access to the server controls from a technical support perspective, just no billing.
I sent Razakel an email at - 7 October 2010 23:49,
To ask for the billing/admin contacts to be transfered to, he replied back at - October 08, 2010 9:25 AM
At which point, the renew option was showing.
Thanks Razakel, it's quite alright, I think the thread got a bit confusing as to it's original purpose.
The original intent was for Razakel to lease out the server for a higher price to recoup the money he's spent on it.
But decided to sell for £49.99 instead, thus, it was the same if someone had purchased direct from OVH, which is fine with me, as the server has a better spec processor than the default Q-1T one anyways.

I'm sorry for the confusion here. I can assure you I wasn't trying to mislead or rip you off.
I've sent you an email with an explanation, and as a gesture of goodwill, you're welcome to keep the Windows licence associated with the machine.

If things like this happen (if this isn't just a misunderstanding), OVH will clamp down and stop allowing these transfers to be advertised
But if you look at page two, it says the £49.99 is for a months renewal, plus the cost of wiping etc, which seemed fair to me.
"Someone pays a month and I pass it over to their NIC handle. "
Mind you, I could be reading that wrong, heh
Ah well, doesn't matter to much, because I have a full months worth of server for what I would've paid, had I gone direct, so it's not "to" bad

Yeah you should not have paid him anything, the point is the community helps each other out by transferring and saving each other the OVH setup fee, not ripping each other off instead :/

You may as well of just ordered one then :S
Not sure if I got the raw end of the deal here, but it does kinda feel like it, heh.
I paid Razakel £49.99, which in his earlier post was for - "Someone pays a month and I pass it over to their NIC handle."
But as soon as I got it, it needed renewing immediately, as it had 1 day remaining.
So, eh, I dunno, feel kinda ripped off in a way. :P

Although I can't renew it, I believe it's because it hasn't been fully transfered? As the admin/billing contact is still in the original owners name.
That should be sorted now.

you change the admin nic in the manager to transfer ownership, you dont need them to pay a month to do so either, it can be transfered straight over to them, all you need is their nic-handle to put into the manager for it.

I'm not sure how you do a transfer, but yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Someone pays a month and I pass it over to their NIC handle.

VAT and the time to wipe and hand it over.

There is, why?

I assume you don't want it, then, in which case, does anyone else?

The Q8300 is a better processor. It's only a few months old, and OVH have a habit of providing different processors to the ones advertised.

Sure. It's a Q8300 (2.5GHz), 4GB DDR2 RAM, 1TB HDD. 3TB bandwidth at 100Mbit/s, after which you're throttled to 10 for the rest of the month.

I'm not sure what you mean there. It's an OVH machine (RBX-2 off the top of my head) and it's currently not doing anything. Previously it was used to host a few game servers.

Got a Q-1T (Q8300, 4GB, 1TB) I don't need any more. If anyone wants to take it off my hands and save yourself a setup fee, just let me know:
