Yup, a circuit breaker broke with enough energy to make metal flow like soft ice-cream for a fraction of a second. The pictures were rather impressive I thought.

It was swapped out, there was no interruption of service.

I'm a tad confused, what happened? a circuit breaker weighing 50kg blew up? heh

Just shows how fantastic the fail-over systems are in OVH data-centres!

Hello,
In life there are those who sleep in the night
Saturday to Sunday and those who do not sleep ... because
they have better things to do ... Gender change a circuit breaker
50kg ...

.... within 4 hours.

In the data center there are 3 types of situations: there
failures we imagined and expected when the system worked.
There are also situations where we expected it did
not work. There is finally the situations we have not
planned and of course it did not work.

Here it is a situation not foreseen by the code of life
a datacentre: an unplanned outage but worked ...
In any case, customers do not feel the problem.

It will not happen to us often. That is why this email.

Hello,
In life, there are those who sleep Saturday night to Sunday and those who don't... as they have better things to do... like changing a 50Kg circuit breaker...

.... in less than 4 hours.

In the datacentres, there are 3 types of situations:there are failures we thought of and expected when the system worked. There are also situations we expected where it did not work. Finally, there are situations that we have not planned or foreseen and of course they haven't worked.

Here we have unforeseen situation in the life of a datacentre: an unplanned outage but it continued to work ... at least customers did not experience any problems.

This does not happen very often, so this is the reason for the post.

All the best
