I can confirm he is right. The Gbit NIC in the SP range is useless tbh.

the sp servers have a gigabit NIC , but the switch is set to 100Mbit , so you will be able to push about 12mb/sec ( provided that the other server is not utilizing its network for something else at the same time ).

for 1Gbit you need an EG / MG , or a kimsufi with the 1gbit upgrade.

the transfer rate would peek at about 90mb/sec ( depending on the disk drives on both sides ).

If I get a SP10-R Best of, will this allow me to transfer at 1 Gbps to my friends 1 Gbps OVH server?

It says the network connection is 100mbps though.
