1. There is no monitoring for failover operations
2. You have to do the switching manually through the manager though you could automate this with SOAPI if you wanted

Hi,
There seem to be a wide range of IP Failover systems available - both for monitoring and making the switch - from DNS to more sophisticated load balancers.
My questions for IP Failover on Dedicated Servers/Kimsufi are :
(1) What does the monitoring of the server (OVH system or server owner)?
(2) Who makes the switchover (OVH system automatically or server owner through Manager)?
(3) How quick is the switchover (they refer to 2 minutes?)
(4) If you wanted to have the backup away from OVH (to improve safety), with this system could you just buy a failover IP with OVH for the primary server and permanently redirect it to another server IP address located somewhere else?
The HOWTO doesn't spell out the monitoring part - I assume lots of you use it, any feedback on effectiveness?
