Yeah it looks like it just isnt in the standard centos / red hat repo's
So you could just add the additional repo's which is what that article takes you thorugh. you can then yum install memcached it.
thanks for your reply jonlewi5, some tutorials were saying to use yum install, and previously i've configured it on ubuntu (apt-get) so i assumed it was.. i will try your link

Check there, appears memcached isnt in standards repos?

Hi,
We require memcached to be installed on our plesk dedicated server, but when i try grab the package using yum it cant find it.
Is there a reason for this? or is it you do not allow memcached to be installed?
