Neil is just a support guy, I doubt he has control over the forum

I can confirm that it takes about 5 minutes max to install But if you're talking priorities then Neil's time is best spent elsewhere, answering the dozen queries a day I already send him

You forget that it's totally separate to the forum. All it does is read the database. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work, it doesn't affect the forum in any way unless something bad goes wrong and it corrupts the database (very unlikely). It's reputable software and I've used it myself several times without a problem.

That said, you do make a good point but that in itself doesn't excuse huge delays

What a lot of people asking for Tapatalk don't seem to understand is that it would be stupid for a company to install some software 'just because a customer wants it' on a production server without first testing it in an isolated environment.

Your response might be 'but it works ok on other vBulletin servers', but it still needs testing to ensure it doesn't break any customisations OVH might have made to the forum.

It could be done in a few minutes during their coffee break! You make it out like it's the worlds hardest task

Well it is not a top priority but someone is working on it and hopes to have it done by the end of the year.

I don't understand why this is such a hard decision. You copy a bunch of files over and it's done - it takes seconds and there is no configuration, your customers/users are then happy. It's a no-brainer...

Any time scale on the upgrade of vBulletin?

Quite - the amount of forum admins who are like "it's too much work - got other things to do". 2 minutes is a stretch, but a competant sysadmin can have it signed up, installed, and fully tested in less than 10 minutes.

Sure, I have requested it.

Surely tapatalk is something you could install at the same time? At the end of the day, it takes 2 minutes to do it. You sign up, copy files to your forum, done.

Hi

We are not looking Tapatalk for now, the first thing we are looking at doing is bring our forums up to date with the latest version of vBulletin since we are bit behind on this.

It's not hard either, you just copy a few files and boom, done. Would be nice to have for faster browsing on a mobile device.
