Hi,
basically you need to create a forward zone file for the domain quamtotius.com and include the name server records.

what have u written in the zone file for quamtotius.com.

Hi all,

I don't have the best understanding of DNS, I usually get by, but can't seem to make any headway with my OVH dedicated server.

Have trawled the forums and followed the instructions of a couple of different techniques without any success :-(

Before I cave in and call in someone who knows better than me, I just want to check I'm not missing anything obvious out.

I'm running ubuntu with virtualmin on a dedicated server.

server address - ns351631.ovh.net

I have set up up two nameservers via godaddy as hosts (Ipv6)

ns1.quamtotius.com (to main ip) > 91.121.75.107

ns1.quamtotius.com (to fall over ip set in OVH manager) > 94.23.153.158

After about 72hrs neither of these are resolving ...

"ping: cannot resolve ns1.quamtotius.com: Unknown host"

I have set the nameservers of a domain in godaddy (ciruss.com)

ns1.quamtotius.com, ns2.quamtotius.com

I have also set up a virtual server with domain ciruss.com (in virtualmin), config below:

In domain ciruss.com
Select all. | Invert selection.
Record name Type Value
$ttl Default Cache Time 38400
ciruss.com SOA - Start Of Domain ns1.quamtotius.com. root.ns1.quamtotius.com. 1344998409 10800 3600 604800 38400
ciruss.com NS - Name Server ns1.quamtotius.com.
ciruss.com NS - Name Server ns2.quamtotius.com.
ciruss.com A - IPv4 Address 91.121.75.107
www A - IPv4 Address 91.121.75.107
ftp A - IPv4 Address 91.121.75.107
m A - IPv4 Address 91.121.75.107
localhost A - IPv4 Address 127.0.0.1
webmail A - IPv4 Address 91.121.75.107
admin A - IPv4 Address 91.121.75.107
mail A - IPv4 Address 91.121.75.107
ciruss.com MX - Mail Server 5 mail.ciruss.com.
ciruss.com SPF - Sender Permitted From v=spf1 a mx a:ciruss.com ip4:91.121.75.107 ?all
* A - IPv4 Address 91.121.75.107

I can't seem to get it any resolution.

Prior to this I had set up ciruss.com with the ovh namservers, added the domain through the ovh manager (correctly and as instructed) still without any joy ....

I'm not sure what I have not configured correctly ... any help would be much appreciated :-)
