Hello,
2 years ago, we proposed to test the Debian 6 preview. It was an opportunity for you to confirm that all was working properly (your software, libraries, etc.) and for us that the installation system would be 100% functional upon the official distribution release.
It was a great success because you were more than a thousand
experiment with this version.
We decided to renew the experience with Debian 7 "Wheezy" which is now available to be installed in 32 and 64 bit distributions.
Note that this pre-release has security updates with slight delays compared to the current stable release. So if you are undecided between Debian 6 and 7, the answer is probably Debian 6.
Some information:
Wheezy has been frozen since June 30, 2012, it has a 3.2 kernel and has the following versions for some of the important packages:
- Apache 2.2.22
- MySQL 5.5.24, PostgreSQL 9.1
- PHP 5.4.4, Perl 5.14, Python 3.2.3
Who is Wheezy? He is the little penguin with a red bow from Toy Story (Siffli in VF)

This version is declared "ALPHA" for now at OVH, so please send us your comments on the ml or forum:
