Creating XFS Partition?

I managed to do this, making my /home partition XFS.

However, upon creating the XFS parition I get an error message regarding incorrect disk alignment.

Does anyone know a fix for this? Googling has given me plenty of people with the same problem, but no fixes. I see it's something to do with the alignment of the blocks on the HDD.

You can, but you won't have journalling support on the root. EXT4 is the way to go, IMO.

Hello,

I am trying to install an XFS partition for '/home' on Debian Squeeze, I'm not sure whether '/' can run as XFS or EXT3/EXT4 would be better (can anyone verify?).

Currently I have:

'/' 10240MB
'/home' 988736MB
'swap' 1024MB

I'm currently using EXT4.

Does anyone know of a way to go about this on an OVH server?

Cheers
