Try ClearOS, is Centos based so is hyperv friendly and it has an easy gui. Just add the port forwarding module to nat to your internal lan.

Thanks for the reply. At least that makes me feel a bit better. Think I might scrap the Hyper-V 2012 idea until the virtual routers (preferably PFsense) start working properly on it.

Hi
Has anyone managed to set up Hyper-V 2012 with a public IP and internal LAN?
I have done this with ESXi/PFsense/ip failover and thought this would work in Hyper-V 2012, it doesnt. The virtual nics are not supported and legacy nics work but are very slow.
I have tried Vyatta and it too has problems with the virtual nics.
It looks like this may be possible without a virtual router using the native Hyper-V 2012 virtual switch and NVGRE but I cant work out how.

Has anyone else managed to make this work?

Many Thanks

Bill
