4500 for announcing our PI RIPE IP block !

Makes sense to me, its a huge management overhead especially with their NA DC. They've got an extremely spread out network now, every additional subnet they need to add to BGP is a lot more management let alone routing work. In the past year they've double the number of edge routers...

Oh, each of which costs a couple million. 4500 euro is nothing

Well that's a bit daft...

I got it confirmed and now they say :

Dear Customer,
OVH no longer offers customers to use their own RIPE blocks.

Why and how on earth you got your own AS and PI space is beyond me, even more so this thread. No wonder we are out of IP numbers, all these noobs managing to get the paperwork filled out grabbing IPs and ASN all over the place.. (well not really, but :P).

Who did you do it through anyway, a certain NL provider?

Hi

No, I do not have the confirmed prices, it is something you would need to contact your local support about.

Neil can you post the price here? Also does OVH offer a service to register the LIR membership documents for you?

If you ask them please let me know why, or hopefully OVH support can post here letting us know.

Was planning on doing this myself within a few weeks

Don't know, was also shocking for me.
My friend got it done for 99 Euros last year and now 4500 Euros !
We are using our own IP, we are not asking for OVH IP address !!

Surely the 4,500 is for them to do the paper work for you to get you LIR Registered so you have your own IP blocks and AS number?
We are already a RIPE LIR member and we already have our own IP blocks + AS Number.

yes, they are asking it just to route them !

This time we wanted to announce one more block and OVH asks to pay 4500 setup fees !!

I think there is something serious mistake or misunderstanding on ovh part.

Can anybody from OVH staff confirm this ?
4500 is just impractical and too high !
