Reboots?

Yeah, it's best to start pinging the server just before rebooting - you'll then see it go down within a minute or so and come back up.

I do that The e-mails often take up to 30mins to arrive.

You do it yourself in the manager!

It should take no more than 5 minutes to perform the reboot when you request it to the system (its automatic) and you will get an e-mail confirmation when the box is back up. If it doesn't come back up in 10 minutes try another reboot. If it still doesn't ping, eventually a technician will go and sort the server out for you; an 'intervention'.
