You can put your iso files in /var/opt/xen/iso_import on the server, for
example using wget via ssh. The .iso files in this directory will appear as an
installation choice when you setup a new VM and have it boot from CD-Rom drive.

Hi Felix

How do we access the local storage you described for .iso files when creating a VM in XenCenter?

Thanks.

Hello,

Last week, Citrix announced the release of the latest version of their virtualisation-oriented operating system: XenServer 6.2.0

The main difference is that the licence has changed, all the advanced functionalities of XenServer are now available in the free version, such as:
- XenMotion
- Xen StorageMotion
- High Availability

A licence is therefore only necessary for obtaining support from Citrix and for activating host updates via the interface XenCenter.
You'll find the full list of the new features with Release Notes here: http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX137826

...along with a description that makes for easier reading here:
http://www.xenserver.org/overview-xe...-features.html

The technical documentation, for example for the CLI Xe tool, is here: http://support.citrix.com/product/xens/v6.2.0/.

Version 6.2 of the XenCenter interface is available at:
https:/// after installation.

One of the particularities of our installations ia that we add a local storage for the files .iso (which is on a separate LVM volume in order to avoid filling it/).

Please do not hesitate to leave us your comments here.

Best wishes,

Félix
